Football Festival

For the attention of respective Managers,

Blackpool FC Community Trust and Staining Junior FC will be holding a football festival over the weekend of 3^rd/ 4^th July 2010. The festival itself will be held on the Saturday and the Sunday with ‘Under 7’s, Under 9’s and Under 11’s’ playing on the Saturday and ‘Under 8’s, Under 10’s and Under 12’s playing on the Sunday.

The venue will be Staining FC Playing Fields, Chain Lane, Staining FY3 0DG.  Parking will be available opposite the facility with a £3 per car charge. Managers are advised to get there early to ensure they get a parking spot. Other cars will be told to park in the surrounding areas.

The format of the tournament will apply to every team at some point:

• Group/ League Stage: this will be a league format whereby each team will play the others from the group once. The leagues will consist of six teams.
• Cup Stage: this will be for the top two finishing teams from each of the groups and the two best third placed finishers. These teams will play a quarter final, semi final and then cup final game, depending upon progression.
• Plate Stage: this will be for the bottom two placed teams from each of the groups, and also the two teams with the two teams in fourth place with the inferior points or goal difference. These teams will play a quarter final, semi final and then plate final game, depending upon progression.
• Trophy Stage: this will be a single game playoff for the two teams in third and fourth place who did not qualify for the ‘cup’ and ‘plate’ stage.

As mangers are aware, Under 7 and Under 8 age groups are none competitive, so there will be no league or group format.

This is the first time the BFC Community Trust have run an event in conjunction with another football club, so naturally a vast amount of time, effort and planning has been put into planning and preparation of the tournament. Our simple aim is to ensure the entire day is a huge success and hopefully something all players, managers and parents can look back upon in the future having had a fantastic time.

Please R.S.V.P as soon as possible to the address enclosed with full payment for your team (s) as places are limited depending on age group, and are expected to fill quickly. The prices for each team are £40 or £70 for two teams from the same age group.
